About the Artist

My name is Gary Knapp.  I have been a woodworker as an avocation for many years.

My debut was at ArtFair in Boulder, Colorado in 2005.  Since that successful debut I have placed my work in a number of stores and done a number of shows (See below).  I now advertising in national publications including "American Bungalow" and "Arts and Craft Homes".

My passion is the Arts & Crafts style -- design style and life style.  I have attended many of the outstanding Arts & Crafts Conferences (Pasadena, Denver, Anaheim, and Asheville.) and been inspired by the artistic energy that pervades these events.   I use traditional Craftsman motifs and expand them in more contemporary directions using multiple woods and other textures including natural and/or A&C tiles.

I have the advantage of being able to "crossover" between traditional Arts & Crafts and Contemporary Fine Crafts.  My clocks fit in both Contemporary fine crafts stores/galleries such as the Boulder Arts and Crafts Cooperative, Show of Hands in Cherry Creek, and Grovewood Gallery in Asheville or traditional arts & crafts home decor stores like Modern Bungalow in Denver or Homefitters in Missoula.

Products

My emphasis is on building fine furniture.  In this case, it is furniture that happens to tell time.  This furniture fits well in a wide variety of decors -- obviously A&C -- but also rustic, "Western", and any other decor which emphasizes hand made crafts and natural surroundings.
